The chart below displays my overall portfolio performance starting from July 2008. I would have preferred to go back even further, but I wasn’t as disciplined in the collection of data prior to that point in time. You can see how I fared during and coming out of the 2008/2009 market recession. The dip in early 2011 was due to me deciding to pay off a car loan in full. Dividends are clearly growing larger and larger, and so too is the overall market value and my overall investment gain.
